Balcony Garden

I haven't had an outdoor space where I lived since... well, a long time. So it is with glee and barely contained excitement that I have begun to play in dirt in containers on the balcony, plant seeds and watch for things to poke out of the soil. I have no idea if any of these plants will ever actually turn into anything edible but I am so excited to have green shoots that I'm not sure it even matters.

Climbing beans

Radishes (since thinned out)

Sweet peas (not for eating)

We also have zucchini (sprouted but not fully through the dirt enough to take a picture. Well, I did take a picture but it looked like dirt so I decided against posting it here), mint, rosemary, lavendar, dill, chives, tarragon and parsley. I'll get a basil plant (and probably a tomato plant) when we come back from Canada.

If nothing else it makes the balcony a lovely and inviting place to sit and drink a glass of wine after work.
