Basilique Saint-Denis

L and I took a rather long Metro ride today to the Basilique Saint-Denis, which is nearly at the end of its line and out past the Peripherique of Paris. Today's journey was partly inspired by Ken Follett's book The Pillars of the Earth (don't ask), but mostly due to the massive lineups we encountered yesterday at the Musée de Quai Branly.

The basilica and its Gothic architecture are astounding. More photos soon.
